BREAKING NEWS!!! New wood arrived in the Wageningen Dendro Lab!
Over the last two years, Ulfa has been in charge of our sampling collection in Indonesia. She took samples of Meranti, Shorea spp, at 9 different sites in West, Central and East Kalimantan. And last week she arrived in Wageningen with all that wood!
In the coming weeks we will analyse those samples during her training. We we will do the chemical analysis together, including the ICP-MS analysis for the wood elemental composition and the cellulose extractions as a preparation for the stable isotope analysis.
With this data we can see how our tracing methods perform in different parts of the world. We are very excited to see those results!
